Well went to the show, for the most part the dealers were in serious denial, or were at least pretending to be. The average asking price on prebans was about the same as it was three years ago. Although one vendor was only asking $699 for a preban OLY, TaxMan bought a rifle from them and I picked up a preban MAC 11/9 (89 date code) on the cheap from thier junk gun pile (anybody got some 32rdrs they are lloking to get rid of cheap?). I actually intended to buy a Century CETME at the show, but they didn't have quite what I was looking for, so when I found the MAC, I figured it was dirt cheap, plus it came from the Atlanta PD impound sales, which means that not only is it a real preban eighties baby killing MAC (and e al know that MACs are almost as evil as AKs), with the bonus of potentially a real live gang bangers gun, how much more evil can you get for less than two bills?
Edited to add: Buying the MAC was my version of voting with my wallet, while I was waiting for Taxman to get his paperwork in order for his rifle, I overheard a conversation between this dealer and another, this dealer was very honest and stated that they were going to lose a lot of money on thier preban inventory, but that there was no point in pretending the ban was still a reality and ripping people off, as soon as I heard that I decided I was going to buy something from him, even though he really didn't have anything I wanted.
