Ok, Looks like the PO3 is a no go. ( Thanks for trying Krink!) So, what does everyone have on their SEAK / AK74's?? Post pics if you can.. No Red dot Kobras...I'm not a real big fan of those (Had 3 - down to 1).  I just want a nice AK optic that uses the side rail.  The scope  HAS TO LOOK COOL / ORIGINAL on the gun - Very Important.  Oh yea, Tactical AK guys - You guys need not apply .  I'm more of a traditionalist - don't like that crap hanging off/around my ak.

Thanks in advance for your help and pics of your sweet equipment!

Well, I put a PO3 on mine.

Who said you needed to go through a group buy?  Try Yuri at Freedom Optics.

I don't get to shoot much past 100 yds. so I've been using red dots. Kobra and PK-01V.

I even put a red dot on my Drozd.

POSP 8X on my SEAK:

I got my PO3 today. Yaaah!

Then I went home to put it on the SEAK. No go. It was a no go. Too tight to fit on. The clamping lever was not the tight part either. It was nice and loose. I don't think it went half an inch before it gets too tight. Hmmmm...

So I tried it on an Arsenal M5. It was a perfect fit. Hmmmm...

What gives with the (possible) oversize mounting bracket on the SEAK?

I had to get back to work so I couldn't look it over closely. Everybody else with a scope seems good to go. What do I need to look for?

Mine was super tight to get on the SEAK.   Could be the finish.

My goodness, that appears to be it. I tried another scope mount, got a no go, tried a third and it fit. After a few ons and offs with them, I tried the PO 3.5x21P and it fit after overcoming some stiff resistance

Sundance, I just noticed the metal thingy on the bottom of the scope scraped the top cover and now rests on it. Does yours do that too.

Common problem.  AK-74 rear trunions are lower and more forward than AK-47 ones, so yes, the metal tab where the illuminator would be will scrape the top cover.  The rail is in-spec so that is not the problem, and the finish is not the problem either.  It is a common problem.  CampyBob would say (as he told me), to simply shave a bit off the illuminator tab to get it on and off easy.  Hope this helps.

Son of a bitch!  Yep!   Nice scratch on my top cover.  Damn it!  It slide on nice and easy without the cap on.  Anyone have some blark touch up?

It fits without scraping the dust cover on my inrange AKS-74.

ETA:  Could this be why the Ak-74m has a smooth dust cover?
