A while back, member BlackScot was asking some questions regarding AK's and the pro's and con's versus the AR-15.
I offered to let him use my Arsenal Inc. SA-M7S in a tactical rifle side match that I hold at the last local IDPA match.
Well, he came in 9th. in the Carbine Division, out of a total of 21 shooters in Carbine Division, and had never shot an AK before, let alone in spirited competition. Needless to say, both he and I were impressed, and he's already started the process of aquiring one for himself. This was using a stock SA-M7S with iron sights and Golden Tiger 7.62x39mm ammo from Russia, against mostly AR shooters who had all kinds of wiz-bangery hanging off of their rifles. Targets were engaged from 10 yards to 130 yards both on the move (with a drop-turner target also) and stationary, utilizing cover.
I've got a feeling that AR is going to start collecting some serious dust!
Makes me feel good deep down inside when someone sees the light!
