I recentnly purchased a WASR for a good price, however it only takes the single stack magazines. IIRC the Hi-cap's are nothing more then modified low-caps, how is this done? Pictures would make my life easier because I lack any mechanical ineptitude.

I was going to do one. However I sold my WASR to a friend so I could build an AK-74, less hassle that way. Basically just get a magazine, sketch out its out line and use either a file or dermal to SLOWLY file out the shape. Just keep checking the mag fit. Also remove all the internals of the gun so you don’t get shavings in them.

I did that to my Maadi-MISR10. Just put in your US parts, and then mark how much you want to grind out the mag well (I used a dremel with aluminum oxide grinding wheels). I used and Ironwood Designs stock set and a Tapco G2 trigger group for  the US parts.

This is the mag well when I was done. As yoou can see, Im not a master machinist either
