I have a friend who is a class III. Hes not a real detail oriented guy as Hank_Rearden1 pointed out earlier. Apparently he purchased a full auto gallil from Botach for a LE demo. Its a itty bitty thing with a folding stock and 7 inch barrel. Basically Botach told him not to shoot any lower than 62 grain or it would screw up the barrel. I was telling him that with such a short barrel he should shoot 55 and possibly 45 grain loads to get them to fragment instead of heavy soft points. I could see if his twist was too high that he could rip the jacket off the bullet but I didnt think that was possible in a 7 inch barrel. Basically I'm guessing that Botach was full of shit and he'd be ok shooting low weight bullets but I have no experience with a gallil and maybe there is some sort of super secret dwell black hole that forms in thier barrels that adds velocity that I'm not accounting for.
Anyone have any suggestions?
