Why dont you just use "e" clips?
I believe they are more secure, since I had my trigger on my maadi fall out when the shepards hook let go when I was shooting it

I have heard they work pretty well. I like the RSA retainer plate myself though.

I made my own RSA-style retaining plate using a thin piece of sheetmetal, a bench grinder and a Dremel tool.
So damn easy to make yourself. I'm not even a machinist... Just make sure the sheetmetal is thin enough to fit in the grooves that the Shepard Hook fits into on the end of the retaining pins. |

Take one of your pins down to your local NAPA and have them custom fit you an E-clip. 7/32 if they have them marked.

Didn't have any trouble with it when I changed the FCG in my SAR-1. Went in real easy.
