the amd-69's that are now being sold in parts set form and as assembled post-ban/domestic rifles are what i call the amd-63 model. both the amd-63, 65 and 69 are sbr's in their oem format.

the amd-63 featured a non-recoiling buttstock (similar in appearance to the 65 and 69), the 'smake brake' (a very load 2-hole model often referred to as the 'crowd control' brake) and a second pistol grip mounted under a slotted steel lower handguard.

the amd-65 and 69 included the recoiling buttstock and sliding lower handguard.

the amp-69 appears identical to what i call the amd-65, with the exception of a revised style of handguard.

regardless of the nomenclature applied, i know of no pre-ban imports of the amd series...only the akm/sa-85(m) fixed and underfolder as imported by kassnar.

the post ban models of what i call the amd-63 and what are sold as amd-69's are going for only a nominal amount above what standard fixed stock akm's sell for.

personally, i dislike the handling of the amd-63 model. i do not care for the cheek weld on any of the amd series. the 65/69 looks sharp, but is a handfull in full auto mode.
