PAC Imported Imbel Gear Logo receiver, minty Imbel kit, DSA furniture, DSA weaver dust cover...  lust at first sight...  I love my AKs, but this thing has me staring slack-jawed at it!

What is this, a trick question?  Hmmm lets see. Ah, because I have two already?  Quite a nice gun!

Other than the muzzle end, I have one just like it and several others. Add a 30rnd mag and a Kobra and smile even more.
A winter project is to put an A3O3 rear sight on a modified FAL rear sight ramp base. Lines up well with a more workable aperture.

In a perfect world I wouldn't have a brake, but this was a bought as is rather than a custom build to my specs.  Still, it is VERY close to what I would ideally build.  Maybe I'll see about having this brake removed and the short stg58 brake from DSA attached.

I woudn't attach or remove anything from the muzzle till next sept.

You might be able to put a Flash Hider on it!

Very nice!!  How do you like your DSA dust cover mount?  Do you plan on adding any optics?

Just curious since I am having ORF build me a FAL carbine, and it will be completed very soon.

Probably going to put an aimpoint on it, I have a weaver cover on my l1a1 and use a red dot on that...  will probably scope that one since it has the full length barrel and use this for more tactical play

Are there drums available for FALs?

That's what I thought!

Nice gun btw.

Why in hell's name would you want a drum?  I have a few for my AKs, and other than taking pics with them they have never been near a rifle of mine.  20 or 30 rounds of .308 will solve just about any social situation you could come across.

I have a few of each, and ironically, no ARs ;)

Nice lookin FAL. I have an itching for one real bad and I think a 16" carbine might cure it. I never was fond of the longer barrels. That thing looks all business.

Gack! A FAL shouldnt be that ugly!

This is what a FAL should looke like:

Most beautiful semi-automatic rifle ever.

I saw one once that I would like to duplicate someday.

It had an 18-inch barrel and a flash hider that looked similar to that of an HK 91, that thing looked just right. I figure something like that with a 4x or 6x scope would be just great.

Best regards, J

You're right, IMO.

FALs are better looking when they're long and lean.

I don't care for the railed dust cover either, no matter what the utility may be.

Obviously you have never dealt with roving hoardes of zombies.

i have several, but i enjoy the carbines the most.  my 21" FAL's are heavy and pretty cumbersome.  the carbine is heavy compared to an AR, but is very manageable.  take that thing out at dusk or night and you will really have some fun.   my local range doesnt close until 8 and i was there last week with an izzy clone with a 17" barrel lighting up the entire range.

FALs are like legos, there are a thousand things you can do with them.

one thing to be wary of with FAL's is to not stand to the right of anybody shooting one, up to a distance of about 15 yards. they'll put an eye out :)

ps-hiram, put a SAW grip on that baby!
