the cmp was selling spare bolts for the 513t match rifles. they were advertised for $10 in "fair" condition.

well, they sold out of them before i decided to order one. i have a couple of the 513t's and figure the bolt might come in handy for spare parts. hell, numrich sells an aftermarket bolt for over $60!

then, they came back in stock. so on dec. 8th, i ordered one. i got an order confirmation from the cmp and a tracking number.

on the 9th, i checked the fedex tracking software and the bolt was still shown in anniston, alabama (home of the cmp on the anniston army depot).

hey, it's the holidaze...and i've been busy doing all the stupid shit we all do...and i completely space out the fact that i got a pacage headed my way.

well, tonight i'm over on one of the smallbore forums reading about al these happy guys that are getting their bolts delivered...i mean these guys have been posting about this second batch of bolts for like a week...and...it finally dawns on me...i'm one of those guys that should have a bolt in his hands!!!

i tell my wife, as i reach for my chore coat and a flashlight, that i'll bet there's a box stashed somewhere around the property (if the winds haven't blown it into the next county!).

i go out and check the interiors of my spare vehicles...nope. no box there.

i walk around and shine a light on the porch and...i'll be damned! there's a little cardboard box.

going back to the fedex tracking site, it was dropped off on the 12th.

no wonder this damned bolt is so cold! 6 days and 6 nights in the ohio winter cold.

in typical cmp understatement, this bolt would almost rate 100%.

now does anyone know where i can order a new memory?

...between my wife and I we have to check the front porch every day for BBTdroppings. I have to be the original "internet guy". I purchase at least 80% of everything I own off the net.

between the door, the storm door, the sidelights, the carriage lights, the doorbell, the fancy threshold plate and a ton of brass fixtures with double deadbolt locks...i could have saved a lot of money just letting the masons brick that hole over.

we don't use that door...maybe once every 3 months. as far as i'm concerned it's just a big decoration.

hell, i've got a big front porch that you could hold a dance on. the only thing i use it for is a rifle rest for shooting groundhogs.

however, the ups guy is smart enough to chuck the boxes in the jetta or citation. at least i get in those every few weeks to start them up and circulate the fluids!

no one, out here in the stix, uses the 'front' door. matter of fact, when the weather's good, we usually prefer to hang out down at the barn or the machinery shed.

jeep, i usually have stuff shipped to my factory. hell, the cmp shipped my last rifle their!!!! why they shipped this bolt to the house i'll never know.

.....don't worry...I live in a golf course gated community...I don't use my front door either!

if you could avoid the motion sensor lights, you could hold a camp out for a boy scout troup on that porch without my knowledge.
