Does anyone know if there were any post-ban MAK-90s imported in 5.56x45 caliber?  If so were they Norinco or Norinco/Polytech and are were they former 56S model?  Any additional info. would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, I have a Norinco BWK-92 postban marked 5.56x45.

Some things I found(quotes are from sites not from me):

" AK47 Legend series made in China are true AK47's in which the receiver is forged/milled. The barrel lengths remain 16" in standard barrel weights. The rifle is chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm. The 5.56x45mm variant is extremely rare."

" AKMs made in China by NORINCO. Semiauto copy of Chinese model 56. 16" barrel, chromed bore, stamped receiver and trigger. Receiver appears to be blued, bolt carrier and bolt appear to be chromed. These are slightly better finished AKM's and the original AKM's came with a folding "pig sticker" bayonet. Chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm"

There are several variations of Norinco post-ban 5.56 rifles all originally based on the model 84s. (The 84s was nothing more than the 56s rechambered for 5.56x45.) There are the MAK90, NHM90 and BWK92. There are supposedly NHM91 (20" bbl.) varients as well but I've yet to see one.

I have a MAK-90 in 5.56mm and had a 84S.  Except for the obvious pre/post differences, they were identical Norinco guns.

The BWK-92 is the same basic gun imported by B-west.  Unlike the B-west parts guns in 7.62x39, all the B-west 5.56mm BWK-92s were Norinco factory production.

I've seen a couple long barrel 84S guns (one with a folding stock), but haven't seen a post-ban yet.  I've also heard of them, so I assume they exist and are just VERY rare.
