sure, you can mate a bugarian left side foder to a chi-com kalashnikov.

it's a fairly major undertaking.

first, the euro trunnion needs milled dow .020" per side to fit inside the thicker-walled chinese receiver.

secondly, either two rivet holes in the receiver will need to welded closed and moved or the trunnion altered to fit the existing rivet holes.

thirdly, the receiver rear will need re-profiled and drilled/milled for the push button, the front/left side of the receiver will need milled for the catch hook and the bottom of the receiver/front trunnion will need to be drilled for the pivot pin and spring.

lastly, a refinish is in order to prevent the newly exsposed metal from rusting.

i prefer fixed stocks om my shooters...they are just more comfortable and controllable.

for a rifle that gets packed thru the woods, nothing beats a folding buttstock.

and of all the folding buttstock designs the triangular russian/bulgarian model is the most practical, imo.

i agree, if added to a pre-ban chi-com, and done correctly, it would be an improvement to the rifle.
