I know ORF has wasr hicaps that are in the neighborhood of $399 and they look pretty sweet. Most of the converted wasr10 hicaps on the market are converted by CAI. The receivers dont have the little dimples in them that the sar has so they tack 2 little metal plates inside the magwell area. They also dont mill out the magwell completly on some of them. So while normal 30 round ak mags fit drums and waffles wont. The solution is to cut off the 2 little tabs they leave attached to the back of the mag well. Overall if you can find one for a good price its worth it. But i wouldnt pay more than $300 after shipping transfer fee etc for the CAI version.

After they have been modified and "prettied up" then yes, they are worth it....

Here's a link for discussion:

Seems that I saw Arsenal advertising single stack milled receiver AKs......

Should be a piece of cake to modify/mill to hicap them.....

I've thought about a converted WASR,examined them and they look really good but I'm having trouble getting past the missing dimples.I know its just a cosmetic thing since the metal is where its supposed to be.

We had to stop selling the converted WASR rifles.  We had about 90% of them returned because they wouldn't feed.

Big surprise, they all came from SOG.

Already have a Saiga in hunter/lowcap form for a winter project. Can't blame an angry beaver if you do the work yourself, and the Russian forum has some nice pics to walk you thru it.
