I received most of my property back from KAG a couple months ago..One was my Preban Norinco 84s registered Shortbarrel rifle . I was sure a Masterpiece. A stripped receiver shell. nothing else, no trigger, trunnion removed. I Decided 2 months ago to Send it to Ted Marshall of Marshall Arms in Tucson AZ. He came highly recommended to me by Chamberlain, and a few others I know down there. I also met him in person at the Small Arms Review show last year and had a first hand look at his work. Which I was very impressed. I figured if worse came to worse, I could drive to Tucson and pick my gun up (a 4 hr drive)Unlike the Chicken coop which was 1500 miles away....

Well 2 months after I had sent it to Ted to work his magic and unwork the fine craftsman ship of the Gooch
This is what I received back

Needless to say I am a happy camper now. This is probably the nicest AK I have seen and pictures don't really do it much Justice,(I suck at taking pictures) and Ted does First class work in a very resonble amount of time.
Again, I have to give a big thanks to Ted Marshall of Marshall Arms

Enjoy!

Thanks guys, It was a long wait for me to get this...

Sturmgenadier,

You know what I mean when I say pics don't do Ted's work any justice, After I saw you gun, and knew mine, was on the way, I couldn't sleep at night!

OK, I can see it now.

That is a sweet Krink.

One question though; the hadguards look almost unfinished.  I'm familiar with the blond Bulgy handguards but those look rough.  Is it just the pics?

Also, what kinda finish is it?  It looks very authentic!

The lower handguard what you are seeing that looks rough is the grain the wood is smooth as silk. the upper handguard was a laminated one I stripped the ugly ass orange paint finish off of, I ordered a new upper hanguard because the laminate sucks, very uneven, and I think the bulgarians painted it for that reason...
The finish it Ted Marshalls proprietary finish, not sure what it is but it is almost an exact match to the factory Bulgarian finish in color and a perfect match in texture.

That is a great looking rifle dandts, real nice.

Was the 84s donor rifle originally an underfolder?

How do you like the underfolder stock on the Krinkov?

Best regards, J

Very nice! Perhaps a stupid question but caliber? The 5.56 Bulgie waffles all but say it all...I've seen the slab-side style Bulgie 5.56 mags but it's been a few years and only came with kits...K-var kit?

Yes it is 5.56 cal.
The slab side mag you see is a Polish Beryl .223 mag
The donor rifle was originaly a 84s side folder, just did away with the chinese stock and hard ware
