Looks like a standard production'49-'51
"Type I" to me... or at least the B&W pic Ken posted does... Notice the gas tube retainer is turned passed it's normal spot, and the re-arsenal stamp on the buttstock... -C |

looks like the typical chi-com to me. the grip angle is all wrong for an early rus.

Campy, that is the correct grip angle for a Russian TypeI AK-47.... I have a set of those original phenolic grips sitting right here if you want me to measure the angles ;)

that mag looks more like a 45 round 5.45 to me. almost straight insead of the curved 7.62 kind. who knows maybe it's just a photoshop made up AK.

Again, that mag is all Type I AK-47, it is a steel slabside mag...no real mystery here...
and no the gun is not a photoshop gun! Please grab your Small Arms of the World by Ezell, 12th revised edition, and turn to page 37 where you will see where this picture was scanned from. -C P.s. if you are still talking about the icon in the upper left, yea that guns a tweaked hodgepoge...who cares. |
