look carefully at your rifle. by analyzing the pin and front sight base you can determine which side the pin was driven in from.
SUPPORT the front sight base SOLIDLY underneath it. you do not want it moving away from the nail set or punch at the moment of impact. ypu do not want it bouncing around either. use a NAIL SET and a ball pein hammer in the 16 ounce to 24 ounce range to start the pin moving. drive it out towards the same side it was driven in from. use a 3/32" (.093" diameter) drive pin punch to finish removing the pin. |

Before removing the front sight (if needed), index the front sight so you can be sure it was put back correctly. Line up small chisel marks on the bottom of the sight base and barrel, like the index marks under a Luger barrel. There is a possibility of misalignment even with the pins. If you're just taking out one pin, there should be no problem.
