When you take those AK scopes off, the ones on the side rail like on SARs. Do they retain zero when you put them back on? I would guess not with the long kind of gooseneck mount.

We are talking AKs here. You must get out of that American mindset. These things are built by 3rd world people in mud huts, with crude tools, not some sterile operating room. The mount on the receiver, is solid as a rock, the mount on the sight(ie Kobra) is solid as a rock. Once the sight is removed and put back on, it will be close to zero, but then again with an AK close is about all you are going to get, these are not sub-MOA rifles.

my po and pso scopes hold zero as well as any removable scope i've used on any rifle. like rs39 said, you may have an 1" give and go at 100 yards...but every other removable mount has been at that level of repeatability amd most are far worse (try that with your $300 h&k claw mount! or you fancy ris/ras/sir setup!).
