Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Polish Magazine Markings....

Just bought a bunch of Polish AK-47 mags NIW. They are the best mags I have seen!
Well, while I am looking them over after I unwrap them. I see on the bottom of the floorplates there is a Circle about a half inch diameter and a stamping that says "KY1015" inside the circle.

Anyone know what that means?

the general opinion seems to be that the poles bought their polymer mags from the russians.

i'll have to check mine out tonight. i remember seeing mold cavity markings on the plastic.

lord knows 'who' really made these things and if the poles bought only bodies or complete units or made them in poland.

I forgot to mention these were STEEL mags and not the plastic ones.

ah...

the poles manufactured their own steel magazines. the finish is about the best there is to be had (although very pretty, the bulgarian mags' finish protects the steel from rust better).

the poles are master of metalsmithing. they really do a nice job and darn near anything they make.
