Hummm... It's an interesting adaption. The original RPD trigger group area is only about 3/8 inch deep. Not enough room to stick a hammer assembly. Any rig will, of necessity, loose the slim profile of the original pistol grip and trigger assembly, to provide the necessary room for the hammer and disconector. It's a well thought out plan, if it gets approval. The alternative is a striker type method of operation. It is do-able but messing with two springs, one for the bolt and one for the striker, would drive you mad adjusting the tension. You would end up hip deep in scrap springs. The price is a trifle optimistic, seeing the SOCOM system is only $6K and it's a real full auto. Yet there may be a market in non-NFA states. I wish him luck, but at that price I'll pass. My thresh-hold for this kind of rig is about $2200 on a good day.

Well, split that is only about $3,300. The key is getting approval, if they can do it then somebody else (say Mike at ORF) can also get in the ballgame!...Ain't capitalism great! competition will hopefully bring the price down.
Side note, I wonder where he got the kits? Could these be some of Keiths? |

The price is crazy. You could buy a semi-auto Browning M3 for almost 1/3 the price. And it wouldn't have a FAL lower.......
I don't really see the point of any semi-auto belt fed rifle though. |

no way!
$7500? even selling one off,$3750? for a bastardized semi-auto rpd? with a 1919 rig (with tripod) at $1500 and full-auto mac's at $1200 and m15's at $7000...no way. not with a fal lower receiver under it. it's a novel approach, just not my cup of vodka. |

That big ass shiny locknut sure is classy. For 7k you'd think that they'd at least make it look pretty. IMO it looks like shit.
