I shoot Wolf HP as well. Only problem has been one failure to fire (although the primer had a nice dent in it).
- seems fine to me. The problems such as the lacquer gumming up the gun, etc... never materialized for me. I plan to keep on shootin' it. I would think that the FMJ would be just as good... haven't ever bought any. I will next time. (SAR-1 - 7.62x39) Logistar |

I'm still burning up Yugoslavian surplus 7.62 but once I get done with that I'll be shooting exclusively Wolf. Never had any problems with the stuff. It is MADE for AK's. I do stick to brass case stuff when I am shopping for 5.56 for my AR though.

Where do you guys get your ammo at? I get mine at sportsmansguide.com. 1000 round for $75 plus shipping. FMJ and HP.

Works for me. And my .45 gets a steady diet of it also.
But 7.62x39 is so cheap, you should get a box of about everything, see what your gun likes best (each gun and ammo source has it's own variation, like ARs LOL!), and buy cases from your results. Ober and I just felt compelled to give some point of reference because we are nuts enough to think that the perfect AK ammo search can be simplified a bit. |

wolf makes a nice 5.45 x 39.5 round.

I've shot a couple thousand through my SKS and had numerous exjection problems. Hard to believe, but true. Funny thing is that I've shot about the same amount of the .223 in my Bushmaster and have yet to have one malfunction. Strange. Now I shoot barnaul in my SKS, and it has been flawless. I Still wish the Norinco ammo was out there in quantity.....I was amazed at the accuracy I was getting. Dumped a few deer with it, also.

I've shot several thousand rounds of wolf through my sks's and ak's and never had any problems. Its pretty good ammo for the price.

WHOA, does this place have a web addy??? what is it? I stricly use wolf, on my SAR-1 (with the exception of yesterday, i had one box of some other russian brand) Wolf is great for AKs, but I try to avoid it for my ARs http://www.ammo-oracle.com One of these questions seds alot of light on the wolf issue |
