I've read the thread about making a Saiga into a std. AK type configuration, but my question is around the feed ramp specifically.  I've seen them advertised on the k-var site with the factory rivit for about $10.  Is that ramp and some sanding of the mag catch all that would be required to make the Saiga take standard mags?  Does that feedramp have to be installed with the receiver trunion removed?  Just curious since the article talks about using a piece of pipe, the genuine article seems like the way to go, unless it won't fit!  Ideas?

The Saiga trunnion is not inletted for the tounge on the bottom of the bullet guide. I suggest grinding the bottom of the bullet guide to fit the trunnion. Then attach the bullet guide with a button headed bolt by tapping the trunnion. Good Luck
