last weekend i ended up with a broken shell stuck in a krinkov. today my broken shell extractor arrived from K-VAR, and i have no idea on how to use it.its one of the 3 piece extracors with threads, and a collet type device, about 2 " long.
how the hell do you operate this thing.

nevermind, i figured it out using my grunt deduction process.
you load the extractor like a round of ammo, then slam the bolt home, the extractor is rammed inside the case, and when you retract the bolt, the bolt extactor grabs the lip of the broken shell extractor, and when you pull it back, the collet on the broken shell extractor expands, gabbing the case, and you pull it out using the charging handle (i had to use a combat boot heel to bang it back)
voilla, fini, now i can send this POS back to where it came from.
