i just got my synthetic stock kit from K-VAR.
i got the upper and lower on, shaved the rear stock and got that in, now do i drill holes for the screws? or do they just screw in?

Drill first, that stuff is a lot harder than it appears!

drive stock home...shoulder within 1/64" of the receiver or less.

centerpunch/spot your drill location.

start with a 3/32" bit. use tape on the drill bit as a depth guide.

increase hole sixe in 1/64" increments untill the screw turns in to 1/2 its' length with only moderate force.

lube screw with soap and install to full depth.

Let me add; be sure to use a properly sized screwdriver bit for this to keep from buggering up your screw heads. That stuff is a BITCH to get a screw in even after drilling. Fortunatley it is worth it.
