i own a 1999 sar-2. i paid a little more for ir in 1999 than what they cost nowadays.

i recommend them as a great intro to the ak-74. mine has over 15k rounds thru it and has ran like a fine swiss watch. it delivers remarkable accuracy despite the crude finish and low initial cost. it runs on romanian steel, east german bakelite and bulgarian polymer mags ($18,$4 and $10 each, respectively).

mine seems to deliver the best results using barnaul 59 grain fmj ammunition.

Ditto on the Sar-2. Aim Surplus has some great deals on them right now.

do they have a stamped or milled reciever and does it matter that much?

Stamped, and it will provide you with a lifetime of good service, if you take decent care of it.

Yes, several.

Anything they list (I think) as being for a stamped rifle will fit a SAR.
