where did you get the  propane tanks?

I want some of the big ones (empty) to shoot at but can't find anyplace to get them except paying 44 bucks a piece for them which would be stupid

Most propane dealers know to purge the tanks after removing the old valves. If you decide to target your own, consider the gauge of the shrapnel, fill it with water/dump repeat a few times, then let it sit upside down (propane is heavier than air) for about a week.

Even if you have the right amount of distance and cover, a full 20lb tank leaves a hole a full yard deep in Ohio soil and attracts unwanted attention.
