well...we had to cancel some poor couple's wedding and reception, but the green hills of ohio are once again going to echo with the sound of hundreds of machineguns roaring!
THE EVENT: BULLETFEST IV this is the 4th year i've been pleased to host what has become the world's largest cyber-shooter's event! last year, we had over 600 (probably closer to 800) folks, shoulder-to-shoulder, on the firingline! this year, we should have more than 1000 shooters present. this event has become famous for the number of machineguns running simultaneuosly, from full auto handguns and subguns to shoulder fired machineguns to crew-served, tripod mounted machineguns to miniguns...bulletfest has it...and more! anti-tank rifles, morters and howitzers will grace our firingline this year. literally, our firingline is manytimes the size of knob creek's. for those of you that have been to hiram maxin or knob creek....you just ain't seen nuthin' yet! if you want to see the fun we had last summer, go to www.tandcreative.com and order a copy of BULLETFEST III, WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS dvd or vhs and get fired up for this year's event! i provide plenty of steel targets (appliances, vehicles, etc.) for you to shred and you are welcome to bring your own 'junk' to put on the berm (subject to approval, of course). i provide all the cleanup after you've gone home...with some help from some good friends! this year, we will have a wider, deeper range that is on private property to have our fun on. WHEN: saturday, june 28th, 2003 setup will start friday morning at first shots will be at 9:30am saturday and go untill 6pm with a cease fire for lunch and small breaks to re-set the targets or correct anything that may arise. WHERE: snode's melon farm and restored country barn 6052 arrow road / minerva, ohio 44657 carroll county (for those of you that need to get those 20's going!) arrow road runs south out of minerva (murray avenue becomes arrow road) and runs to state route 43. snode's is located 5 miles south of minerva and 3 miles north of route 43. COST: in the past, bulletfest has been a free event, with most folks donating $5-20 to the local gun club it used to be held on. unfortunately, we've outgrown that facility and we had to relocate onto private property. the cost will be $10 per person (at the gate) to get onto the firingline. appropriate waivers must be signed, as is the norm for this type of event. EYR AND EAR protection is required! no exceptions. i don't want to see anyone get anything more serious than a burned hand! WHAT TO BRING: sun shade instant-up type shelters, coolers, water/pop/juice, a plastic tarp for your firing position (ground tarped for ease of cleanup), rifle racks, ready line tables...all the usuall tools and supplies for a day of fun. WHAT TO EXPECT: more than one half-million rounds going downrange and lots of noise! WEATHER: the last three bulletfests have ben sunny and hot! we've had a high of 95° and last year it was a pleasant 85°. stay hydrated! although bulletfest has yet to see any rain, it can rain very hard in a monments notice. again, be prepared. AMMO vendors will be onsite! be prepared! last year, due to emergency, they were late to show up and guys were bumming ammo by 10am! bring plenty of ammo! you'll need it! GUNSHOW: there will be an area set up for you to set up your tables and buy/sell firearms (legal purchases only!) and firearm related item. space will be provided for a very nominal fee. RESTAURANT: there will be food sold onsite, including breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks/pop/etc. available thru out the day. once again, the action will be captured by professional videographers. if you are paranoid about seeing your mug on video...stay home! this is a family oriented, fun event and we would rather not have the tinfoil hat crowd around, anyway! CAMPING AND MOTEL INFO: will be posted soon! i hope to see all my old friends, and a bunch of new ones, on the firingline this year! please feel free to email me for additional information and to answer your specific questions. more info to come as i get it worked out and as i find time. thanks, campybob |
Campy - sounds great! I'll definitely be there to help you set this event up. I owe you at least that much after all that tailgate gunsmithin'
Campy, I love you!
Biff, We better get on the horn and find a hotel room. We are getting air condition this year! This is the one day I look forward to more than opening deer hunting! Brick |
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!
Hmmm.....motel room? The thought of a motel room with a shower sure sounds good. Brick, you guys gotta keep me posted where you are staying. |
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO.....green hills of Ohio....look out for the Flying Kalashnikov Brothers! Zoar Tavern for Brats anyone? Yuuuuummmmm
Here is a question for you Campy....
Parking & unloading at the line the last 2 years has been pretty convenient, How far is the parking going to be from the firing line this year? Should those of us who bring a ton of stuff pack a cart as well? |
i'll keep a loading zone clear in the am and pm...but i'm keeping all vehicles as far away from the hot zone as possible!
btw lumpy, you are cleared to update the bulletfest website and i'll be sending you more data/pics in the coming days...hotel/camping info, etc. maybe rbad can give you a hand with shifting it to the new domain name. lmk when you get the basics up and i'll go around adding the link to all the posts i just spent 2 hours getting up! lol! |
Hey Campy,
I'm new to this board, is this event for shooters only? I don't own any class 3 stuff (yet). Will they be rental guns that we can try out. |
rw66 - you can come to watch, but you'll be missing out on alot! Most of us don't own any class III stuff (but there are plenty that do) - either way you will have a blast. There will definitely be stuff to rent out there and if you don't have anything to shoot, stop by our watering hole and we'll hook you up. |
I'm there, tacked on the Ohio board for the duration. See you Friday evening for setup.
Bob do you need any medical people to help out? If so I will be willing to help out with that. I'm a paramedic over here in PA. Shoot me an email if ya want & we can arrange things. I can probably get some supplies "donated" from my place of employment.
[email protected] |
I think I can make it. Hopefully I'll be able to make the 500 mile+ road trip from IL.
medic, thank you sir! we have had several medics, emt's and med-techs donate their services in the past...and all the medical help i can get is very much appreciated!
so far, we have only had to treat minor burns (hot barrels!!!) and small cuts. i always bring a battlefield first aide kit, but my skills in the area of wound treatment are very limited. i would rather be prepared and not need the services. |
What? No special firing line for smallbore target shooters?
I just got Form 4 sign-off yesterday on my first NFA purchases, so I doubt I'll have any of the subguns by then, but I'll bring along a bunch of semi-autos and lots of ammo. I'll be happy to help out on the line, or if there's any interest, run a little "kiddie clinic" for folks that brought children along and want to let them shot lots of different semi-stuff before they start them on machine guns ;) |
Kiddie clinic, oh yeah, the kids and the parents would love that. Rot and I did that with his son.
Last year I dragged a friend out with his Hipoint 9mm pistol. Just shoot baby!
Don't get any better than this!! Will already be in Carrollton, on company expenses. How far from Carrollton to this farm? Hope to talk to you more about it at Knob Creek.
Thanks again, man. Gary |
www.amunitionstore.com is now accepting pre-orders for ammo, to be delivered onsite at bulletfest IV!!!
you can call in your order, save yourself some shipping charges and have the convenience of wheeling your cases of ammo right to the firingline! they have a nice selection of linked and loose ammo, both mil-surp and commercial. that should keep the machinegunners blasting right along! hit the website and order up in advance! be sure and call first to check availability and mention the special bulletfest deal! |
We should have them read literature by Ludwig Von Mises and Murray Rothbard so we can make sure they won't become communists! www.mises.org |
Campybob, I may actually make it for the first time. I was glad to see the date chosen, as that is the first day of my vacation. The company I work for shuts the entire mill down the week of the Fourth of July every year for vacation. I'm in Indiana, so it wouldn't take too long. You may see me there...
dredd...from the pumping station...about 5 miles northwest.
arrow road pretty much parallels rt. 9 and can be picked up by running arrow north off of rt. 43 about 4 miles on the malvern side of carrollton. garandman...i'll be pleased to see you on the firingline! m4, from the indy-ohio border figure about 4 hours max.. canton ohio is the best place to jump off the 4-lane at take rt. 30 east into minerva. |
I plan on being there Campy, bump firing the hell out of something I own.
Year four, and i'll be there again. will we have t-shirts this year ??? mmk

This would be my first time at an event like this...Im assuming that semi-auto are going to be welcome to :-).
this poor melon farmer have any idea what he's getting involved in??
Nope, and you don't want him to either. Bob is running out of places that are willing to be repeat supporters.......hehehe
I'm definitely interested in ordering the BULLETFEST 3 dvd or video but the www.tandrcreative.com link isn't working... Maybe it's just down today?
thanks |
gridlox, yes ALL cyber-shooters and their firearms ARE WELCOME. semi-shooters are a big part of the bulletfest firingline!
biff...he has a clue...but, like anyone that hasn't yet made it to bulletfest he has no idea how loud it will be and how much lead will be embedded in his hayfirlds! lol! biteworks, tom (from t &r) told me their site should be back up soon. although a little pricey, the video they took and the professional production justify the cost...it is an amazing hour of footage! |
I'll definitely order BULLETFEST. There can't be enough full auto videos! Thanks for the info, I'll keep checking their site.
CAMPYBOB
i will be ther if i can find someone from WI to car pool with me. thanks ray |

Word to the wise out there; I am presently staying at the Days Inn in Carrollton, Ohio (15 minutes from Snode's); great motel, pleasant staff, and, according to the manager, FILLS UP EXTREMELY FAST ON WEEKENDS THROUGH THE SUMMER!
If you're gonna get a room, book it now. Just to let you guys know. -GWM- |

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=185872
hit this link to take you to the mapquest post on the general board/general disc. forum. there you will find the map! |
I hope we do a police call on the farm before everyone scats. We need to pick up all our crap or we won't be welcome back.
If its as big as last year Campy, we proabally should have a dumpster on site. We should also have a rescue squad ambulence and paramedic on site as well IMO. |
Well, I have some good news and some bad news.
Good news... I got a better job :) Bad news... I may not be able to take off the two weeks I had planned for coming to Bulletfest IV :( I will get the details on the job tomorrow and get a feel for if it will be acceptable to take off two weeks shortly after I start, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather keep a decent income than do the most fun thing :( |
Awesome! I must find it in my powers to head out there this summer!
False alarm. No new job.
I'll be at Bulletfest... and I'll try to have enough money to buy at least one 2XL shirt :) Nice RotDorn! My only question is this: no commie stars under those bullet holes? ;) |
It's looking more an dmore like I'll be able to make it! Anybody have up to date info on nearby motels? I may just camp though......
I have had no luck getting to www.tandrcreative.com to order the Bulletfest
dvd. Anyone have a suggestion? May be an email address I can write for ordering info? thanks! |

Just ordered a T-shirt and reserved a room at the Days-Inn using NRA discount.
I've been holding off all firearms purchases for a few months, in anticipation of purchasing a RR M16. Now I'm debating buying a cheap C&R SKS so I can fire some cheap wolf 7.62x39 downrange(along with my ARs and other stuff). Decisions... |
