I was wanting to move the front sight back enough to cut the barrel and install the AK-74 style break that I bought from Global Trades. It looks like the diameter of the barrel is smaller closer to the gas block due to some sort of circular machining? Has anyone tried this? Also, I would like to find a good gunsmith that could be trusted to do the work for me. Another option, though I would rather use the sight that is on there (which is already a little canted and needs fixing anyway), would be to use the clamp on sight from ACE Ltd. I would rather save the money and put it into a new trigger group. Thanks!

yeah, I just want to shorten it enough to install the break permanently and not add any length overall. I really don't have the tools that it would take to do it correctly.
