Look at the stock where it's attached to the receiver. Notice anything?

I sent the chap an email telling him that he was in violation of federal law, he responed in about 6 minutes saying he was "going to remove it". I don't know if that means the rifle from the site or just the stock.

Reminds me of the guy that built an RPK from an I/O kit, installed the auto sear, and put it on e-bay.  You could see the third pin a block away.  I'm sure the ATF paid that one a visit!  Wish I still had the picture.

WOAH.

Whats wrong with it?

All the rivits appear to have been replaced with screws.

In the markings pic it appears the markings had been sanded/ground off and re-applied.

AND he's dumb enough to post it on an auction site with the folder listed as functional (as well as displayed as such).

Thats one FUBAR rifle, whatever dip$hit made it should have either kept it to himself or corrected that jail-bait before selling it.

I'm not even THAT stupid.

So this really is a Post ban. I wonder if he bought it and the seller told him it was preban?

To be fair I've seen Pre-Bans that idiot owners/dealers chopped because they didnt understand the bill, but this rifle looks pretty suspicious to me. Either way you cut it, I wouldnt pay any more than $200 for it, and I certainly wouldnt buy it "on the table"

What is the significance of the angle cut receiver?

I think HotRod should have won the prize.

he's got a 1993 import mak-90 that is worth about $400.

as long as the stock/grip was installed prior to the 1994 ban he is entirely legal. prior to sept. 1994 there was no law against installing a folder or pistol grip on a t-hole rifle. the '89 ban was used to regulate import configuration. there were no laws preventing domestic manufacture at that time.

still...$998??? is he on drugs?

Do you have a link on that law? If a person were to go back to a fixed stock after they had the folder, could they re-install the folder. Would it lose its pre-ban status if it had the folder removed after 1994?

There have been 2-3 Mak-90s forsale on Auctionarms in the past week that has the folding stocks attached.

One was a "transitional" underfolder that had the buthole stock removed but still had the rear tang visable.

Another had no underfolder installed but had the factorey hole and had another stock avalable (comes with the gun but not attached)

AK 47s variants had to be preban before 1989---this was Big Bush's law right?  Someone who knows this shit should be all over this soon.  I barely remember references to this in Unintended Consequences.

I bought a MAK90 in 93 also.  Thumbhole stock...

As I remember, one could NOT put a pistol grip on because of the 1989 law.  The best one could get was a fiberforce stock.
