i just drilled some holes in one this morning.
lordy! why do they put that fugly engraved logo on the left side??? and right where a rivet goes thru it! |

I assume one would purchase the AKS reciever for an AK-74 kit, right?

So are they (OOW) heat treating the receivers properly now? I wish we could get a 5.45 Saiga receiver for this stuff. Izmash's new stamping technology is superior to any AK type that's out there. This receiver is nothing more than a classic AKM, old AK-74, type, but it'll have to do I guess.

this one will be riveted together. tonight, i'll punch the countersik bends around the 4 front and 4 rear trunnion holes. interestingly, the bulgarians only countersunk 4 of the 6 front rivet holes and used a smaller rivet in the middle 2 hole...go figure. |
