Looking for some advice for a flash hider or maybe a blast shield for my AMD65.

Should I just stick with the factory brake?

If you want recoil reduction, the stock brake works very well. Just really loud.

I have one on my 7.62x54r VEPR, pulled it out of my spare parts pin and put it on as a temporary measure. Works well and I haven't felt the need to swap it out.

After looking around you may be right.  The stock brake works good.  It is LOUD for sure!

I was wanting see if these blast devices work.

The stock brake works well for recoil reduction, not that the 7.62x39 kicks like a .50BMG or anything.

However, it also has two huge benefits when used in a CQB situation...the fireball coming out of the gun will temporarily blind any perps in the room, in addition to causing them permanent hearing loss, and it can set them on fire if they're within 5 meters.

Yeah the fireball is nice on it!  I like it but mainly concerned about the rear portholes are covered by the rail.  Not sure that could be an issue after time!?!?

I would combine a CNC Warrior 14mm to 24mm adapter and a 4pc flash hider. Excellent flash reduction and will redirect most of the muzzle report forward instead of to the sides and back.

Also years back there was a post on one of the AK boards from a guy in Hungary who claimed to work with FEG as an engineer or designer. He stated that one of the design intentions of the AMD-65 brake was to make its users more difficult to pinpoint and assess strength in numbers by spreading the muzzle report. It was a variant primarily intended for vehicle crews and mech infantry, units typically operating in small numbers who would either only engage if they had to abandon their vehicle, or would engage and then quickly move out of the area. I don't know how true this is but it certainly seems accurate to me given what the AMD-65 brake does.

I second the CNC Warrior 4 piece brake or copy of the Bulgarian. I have it on a 10" barreled AK and I was surprised how effective it is.

I wouldn't shoot that much with the hand guard covering one of the ports.

The port is only half covered.  Shot over 200 rounds and haven’t had any problems.
