Other than the price it sold for what's wrong with this GB listing?

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/887702459

And another wow on the price on different completed sale from same seller.

It's not an AKS? I'm not super familiar with ak variants.

Lancaster Nodak Spud built rifle for $2400 huh? Hmmm

The NDS-1 receiver was not available in 1981, so the seller has confused the trunnion markings with when the rifle was built using a NoDak Spud receiver

That was my first thought...

“Is he claiming he has an imported AK from ‘81 that was somehow built on a Nodak receiver?”

But then again, I don’t know foreign model designations well enough to swear that NDS-1 could ONLY mean a Nodak receiver.

This.

This + 1.

I generally follow this seller's auctions when I have time.  He has been selling off an impressive collection of really everything under the sun for the past several months.  Pythons, Mausers, Colt SAA's, Winchesters, Springfields, bayonets and some nazi era stuff.  Lots of revolvers.   Excellent pictures and the items are almost always pristine.   I agree he confused the trunnion date and preban features on the Lancaster.   Having said that he has had several other auctions where he will post an amendment noting a mistake when he is made aware of one.  Like this one:

https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/888743423

So, if someone would have told him he probably would have made a notation.  Not perfect but not every gb seller does that.

This.  No pre-ban made on NDS receiver.  Hopefully the buyer is not in a pre-ban only state.  There are a lot of discrepancies with some of the sellers other rifles

Many people who post on there have no idea what they're doing, and many buyers have no clue what they're buying, but I see that a lot with AKs and AK accessories. Just take a look at the East German Type II AKM bayonet for $250.00! A ten-second internet search and Northridge has them in stock for $89. I often think this is some guy telling his wife he put it up for sale but no one was interested.

I did notice the nice 2nd generation Polish sling, which I'd like to have. If this dude is getting $2300, then my 1983 Polish underfolder must be worth $3k ...

I saw a James River Tula build go for thousands of dollars on GB a while back. The build was obviously fucked up - the receiver was set back so far at the front that several millimeters of the front trunnion were exposed, leaving a huge gap at the front of the receiver between the handguard and receiver. This can cause some less than obvious problems like ejector being too far back in the cycle.

It was obvious to anyone who has worked on AKs but the average buyer would probably never notice it. It was a problem that could have ranged anywhere from purely cosmetic to the kit needing to be rebuilt but in any case I wouldn't have paid thousands for it.

In regards to the Valmet, 7.62 x 39 guns always go for big bucks, usually around $6500 or so for ones that have been fired, and that is in a "normal" market.

Multiply that by New In Box with the box and all accessories, and the current crazy market conditions and a doubling in price on an unusual, desirable, and mint condition Valmet does not surprise me as much as the price on that Lancaster build on a Nodak receiver.

Agreed AND the Valmet s also a true PRE-BAN that can be owned in a number of the less free states

Indeed, I just hate those bicycle handlebar grips they used. Other than that, it has all things on the check list.

Looks like both of them have bayonet lugs. What are you looking at?

That guy is either an idiot or a scammer.  Sorry but there is so much info available on line these days that making that kind of claim is just suspect.

I have a Kasner import Hungarian underfolder - swapped russian furniture and bakelites for mags.  Only true "pre-ban" euro spec. AKM underfolder you can buy.
