The long barreled Krinks tend to be overgassed. This is because the gas system is designed for an 8 inch barrel. The cure is to SBR them
Most of the 107urs have a restrictor in the gas block so they aren't over gassed. |

Possibly. But it could also introduce problems with the bolt getting slammed home with more force than the design called for.
If you don't want to SBR I would cut the barrel and install a fake supressor. That should ease most of the excess gas pressure. |

In my opinion the only reason to get one is to SBR it. If you don't have plans to sbr then I wouldn't buy one. It's a simple process of cutting and crowning the barrel. These do not have the restrictors in the gas block.

SBR or not, I can completely understand the need for one. Go for it and enjoy.
I cannot attest to any gas issues with them, mine is in 5.45 and SBR'd. |

I sold my two (and only) AK-74s 2 years ago... Tonight, I orderd an SLR-104UR. What better way to get back into the AK world than with a factory Krink?

I run a wolf extra power spring in my 104ur and it runs fine, lots of ak's run this spring without issue and im not worried about it hurting the rifle, it fires like any other 74 i have had. I think fireing rounds causes more wear on the front trunnion then a little stronger spring. Even with it not sbr, it is a light accurate small package i love it! Enjoy!

My 104ur is very overgassed to the point that it isn't pleasant to shoot. I bought the Wolff spring but haven't shot it yet with it and I only have about a week left until I get my stamp so I probably won't be able to test to see if it helps. You can definitely feel the bolt carrier group smashing into the rear trunnion and it causes some trigger slap.

I mean i knew going into it that it would be more overgassed then normal obviously since the gas port is closer to the chamber, but it wasnt terrible, but the spring keeps it from smacking the rear trunnion. It has a little more kick then my previous 74's i guess but its nothing terrible. Most ak's are pretty overgassed but the 5.45 doesnt really kick anyway i have found compared to other popular calibers. I think peopke mivht have a trigger issue on alot of new arsenals and that doesnt help the 104ur.
