Were there any polytech rifles imported post-89 ban? Were any polytech rifles imported as parts then built up with US parts?

I found a polytech rifle that seems to have wrong furniture and no bayo lug. Mine all have bayo lugs, so I'm leery it's been de-thumbholed inappropriatly

Comments/advice appreciated

There are some Polytech MAK90's out there.  Pretty sure they are really early rifles just after the ban went into effect and were modded to be MAKs and ban compliant.

So can these true imports be "debanned" technically?

I do not know what you mean by "technically" but it is going to be hard to put threads at the muzzle.

Depending on your state, a grip separate from the stock can be added.

Yeah.  Just gotta replace the neutered parts with original parts.  Then use the right parts to maintain 922r compliance(post ban imported "assault weapons" have to have US made parts added to them).  Then thread the barrel.  The barrel may be too thin to use standard AK threads, so you might have to use a different thread pattern.  People do it all the time.

Use 1/2x28 thread.  GARY
