I was just given this beauty as a Christmas gift. I do not know much about this model- Zastava PAP M77PS imported by Century. It is .308 Win., has a very low serial number, came with two 10 round metal mags, and is angle cut with poly furniture. I just got it tonight and will try to get to the range this weekend. It feels and looks very well made.

Zastava has a very good rep. That's probably a damn fine rifle if it works.

I had no idea the .308 version was being imported now. Very cool. Break it down and take lots of pics of the bolt, carrier, trunnions, etc.

I took the screw out of the pistol grip, but was unable to remove the stock. I tried to knock it rearward with a rubber mallet, but it would not budge. Any suggestions?
Here are pics of the bolt, carrier, and rear.

Thanks. Yugos have a screw at the rear trunnion for the attachment of the stock. Try removing the butt plate and you should see a bolt.

Hey Liquid...is that a slant cut receiver or is the stock simply covering up that part of the receiver. I know you know Yugos.

I got the stock off. A small screwdriver through the tiny holes in the buttpad to remove it exposed the single screw from the back.

That is one odd looking rear. Plus, the way that pistol grip nut is riveted to the underside of the receiver is kind of silly imo.

I will try to cut it down and sand it to fit the slant. ETA: Now I have decided to go the other route. I added an ACE Yugo mounting block, which I will have welded to fill the slant cut gap, folding mechanism, and stock (1), plus other 922r compliance parts: Tapco G2 FCG/PG (4), and US muzzle nut (1).

That thing would look damn good with some M76 furniture and a M95 flash hider.

Update on my Zastava M77: I cut the weld on the muzzle nut and finished the 922r compliance drill by adding a US made G2 FCG (3), a US made muzzle brake (1) (I also have a US muzzle nut and I have a US made M90 flash hider on the way- thanks to a response from a member in here to my EE WTB thread), US pistol grip (1), plus the US made ACE stock (1). I also scored 2 20 round mags that came in today. I hope to go to the range on Saturday. I really like this beast.

ETA: I'm assuming a Tabuk stock would fit that nicely also. Looks like my plans for a .308 AK DMR may have changed a bit.... |

Looks a lot like the factory rail on my x39 PAP. I use a SVD mount on that rifle.
If I was in your shoes, based on your intended usage, I would be looking hard at a 1-4x variable. Very good up close, very good further out. It will easily stretch out beyond 200 yards when you feel the need. I just put a 1-3x variable on my FAL for use primarily from 50 to 400 yards. |

UPDATE:
I added an RS Products mount. It seems solid and is very light. It has an attachment for the Aimpoint T-1 Micro and a 30mm. I am still looking for a 1-4x scope. I put the Aimpoint on tonight and hope to go to the range Sunday.
