TX-Zen has one and did a review here and some others posted their experiences as well.

why dont you get a cheap shotgun magazine tube clamp and bolt that onto the gas tube?

I have about 3 bucks into this absent the G2. Generic barrel clamp from Ebay, and Weaver offset ring from the parts bin.

I've got the DBMG mount and really like it. Solid and well made, not heavy either.
(actually I run the X300 on the side not the bottom, sling gets in the way on the bottom. Someone wanted a pic of the light that way though) Z |

Get yourself a Surefire 660. It's a universal weapon light that will mount on just about any rifle barrel (you might have to loose the cleaning rod). It's not the coolest lighting system available but it will fit just about anything and they can be found relatively cheap on E(vil)Bay these days.

Along the lines of the duct tape, I took a piece of bicycle inner tube and stretched it to fit the light onto the left side of the handguards but forward enough that I could get a grip and use support thumb to control the light. It was ROCK solid. I had to cut it off with pocketknife
. I now keep a half dozen 2" sections of tubing in the rifle bag.You will need ultra man strength to get the tube over the handguard and light. |
