Man, this is the best $700 I ever spent. For the money, this is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

your video just changed my plans.

- get draco
- add ace folder stock, add perm flash hider.
- send in paperwork

- shoot as rifle till paper work done, have sbr

Just FYI- SBR's are not subject to 922R. Good selection of parts, anyway.

That's just it, you can't beat the price of the gun after all is said and done. $700 for a rifle, tax, and all conversion parts?

I'm going to buy another Draco or two and sit on them. One of these days the supplies will dry up and they will jump up in price.

Heck, I might put an underfolder on one too, that would be too cool.

Since the Draco is a pistol 922r should not apply. However who knows what happens when you turn it into a rifle. The BATF notified me that an Arsenal Krink made from a 107UR needs to remain compliant. Fortunately keeping an AK 922r compliant is not hard.

I've seen the letters, too. Nothing wrong with putting compliance parts on, just in case.

Here's a letter from the ATF dated 2009.

As you can see, they say that any imported rifle, even an NFA rifle, must comply with 922r. My assumption is that because I've turned it into a rifle, it plays by the rules of an imported rifle as it's built on a foreign set of parts.

That's why I went with the compliance parts. I am playing it safe.

That is just awesome. I was thinking my next NFA item might be a suppressor or SBS, but that may change. I should at least buy a Draco and stick it in the safe for later.

well spent $700. Here are my three best priced NFA guns
$550 after stamp for this one

top SBS total after the stamp was $270 and the bottom was $400.

I added a bead sight to the top one since the picture

The one I have didn't come with an underfolder trunnion. Gotta say I do prefer the Ace side-folder. I have one on my S-12 conversion. The only problem I have had is that the mechanism is crazy stiff. I had to put moly grease on it in a couple of places to get it to work as yours did in the video.

I did exactly that. 'Course, it only got to remain in the safe until the next range trip.

Now just waiting for my change jar to fill tot he $200 mark & will send in SBR forms.

Thanks it's just a really old Wingmaster. I have it busted down right now. I shortened the stock about an inch. It makes it a little nicer when clearing rooms. Before it had more of a NATO length stock now it's more of a standard AK length.

Gotta agree, I love my Draco SBR so much that I bought a second Draco to make a non-SBR rifle out of. The SBR goes with me pretty much everywhere, fits right under the seat of my single cab truck and takes up no cargo room. Definitely one of my favorite rifles, if not THE favorite.

well i mean really how expensiive is it to keep it 922r? the ace stock is US. a pistol grip is $10-20. a g2 kit what $30 these days? keep the muzzle attachment as us and you're ok. the hand guards just reduce the forgien parts content to 1 below max.

most of us could dig around in our parts bins and come up with a couple of the parts.

i was fence sitting on the draco till your video. the FS is indeed very effective. plus its 14x1 lh and not 24 x1.5 rh which means you have way more choices in muzzle devices.

That's just it, my gun became 922r compliant because of the mods I was going to do anyway. Not much of an issue really.

My Draco SBR is 922(r) compliant as long as there's a US mag inserted in it... Stupidest law ever, and the chances of some gun Nazi checking and/or questioning your parts count is 1:1,000,000, but it's still law, so play it safe.

I hate bringing up old threads but I figure this is best place to ask. Who did you do as the manufacturer? Did you put down century or romarm sa/cugir? I figure CAI since they imported them but I'm not sure.

CAI since they are the importer. That's my understanding of it.
