Aims has one,  Altantic firearms has one, but who has the best quality one?

I think you'll find that AIM and Atlantic are selling the same gun - the German Sports Gun .22 AK (GSG makes them).

Its a .22 in a shell that looks like a AK (see this thread on The High Road).

Neither are .22 AKs... you want a WASR-22 or ATK-98

The GSG AK's are reliable shooters though, Chris at ATI was saying since their inception they have not had one come in for repairs and that speaks wonders when the GSG-5 has many design issues that require frequent maintenance.

I just checked the 3 dealers in the AK section and none listed. Are they sold out or are they seasonal run over?

Sorry, you're just a few years too late.  I've had 2, 1 never worked and my current one never malfunctions.  Bought them for $250, they now sell for $450+ when you can find them.

Definitely one of these. I believe they have a high parts interchangeability percent with "real" stamped AK-47s.

With the WASR's the only thing that is interchangeable with a standard WASR is the furniture, the top cover, and the trigger. every other part is basically special.

Not the one for the X39, a friend got one and it was sold on GunBroker within a couple months, then he got a WASR22.

That is a WASR 22 with BDM mags

And just for you, More pics with a better camera.
Before I shot it I completely stripped it down and cleaned all the cosmoline out of there, along with the dust and dirt and general crap, then I had a buddy media blast the bolt (completely disassembled) to get the crappy paint that century or someone had put on it off, I then put on a standard WASR top cover as people had complained that the restricted factory top covers had a tendency to prevent proper ejection, and put Romanian wood on it, a US pistol grip, and a tapco disco. Bought some BDM mags and have over 2500 round through it with out a hiccup. I am amazed I figured I would at least get a FTF from cheap ammo but it seems to like the Federal jacketed bulk packs.

The only WASR .22 I have seen has been in a pawn shop and it was Californiaized.  I am wondering if Saiga will ever come out with their .22.

YES!  The poor little thing looked just like that.  In fact, I still think it is in the same pawn shop.
