In response to this thread.

This is an easy task that can be performed by anyone with do dremel skills.

First, you need to grind off the tang.

Second, you need to open up the slot around the triggerguard.

Third, you need cut the grip screws threaded block as shown.

Fourth, you need to obtain a shortened grip screw. There is a two holes inside the grip. The forward is for mounting to an AR, Im not sure why the read hole is there, but is lines up with the threaded block.

I used a routing bit and a cutoff wheel.

I later learned of this product. It may work just as well.

Instead of dremeling everything you use one of these.

Already posted above. Though kinda hard to see it. Rifle off to the RH side.

I would like to see MAGPUL come out with a dedicated MOE type grip for AK's, rather than using an aftermarket adapter with mediocre results.

Thanks but can not really see how it lines up if it looks like it places it in a position to actually work. Was just looking for a better picture.
+1 on the dedicated AK grip.

I don't really think the adapter is mediocre, but I did shave mine down to match the contours of the grip better. I would still love for Magpul or Tango Down to come out with a dedicated AK grip though.

Didn't mean any disrespect for those using the ACE adapter. I just feel a one piece MOE style grip would be the ideal situation, but unfortunately, they just aren't available. Either modifying an MOE, or using the adapter is the only game in town right now. Just by some of the PICS I've seen with the ACE adapter, it looked kinda odd. As long as it's functional as well as comfortable that's what counts.

Since I have a few MOE grips here, I decided to order one of those adapters from ACE today. Should have it sometime next week. Rather than prematurely knocking the idea, I'll try it out myself. Though a one piece design would be better, I may find this suitable in the meantime.

The adapters feel more solid when epoxied to the grip.
