So after scrounging enough parts to build a 100-series Kalashnikov in 5.45 I finally found a really great place to finish out the build on it along with a Krink kit I had been sitting on for a while.  The company is MTM Manufacturing (  MTM  ) and I have to say that I am very pleased with the result.  The rivets are all very nicely done.  The hot blueing that was used for the finish almost has a black oxide type of feel.  It reminds me more of the DuLite finish on the old Thompson SMGs.  I have not gotten them out to the range yet to test but am looking forward to it shortly.  The turn-around time was really good (less than a month) compared what most AK builders seem to be running these days.  If you need to have a build done I would recommend contacting Mike at MTM.

Now for the gratuitous gun porn:

It's a great feeling to get Krink's back from the gunsmith, last month I got my 107UR back and last week my 5.45 build :)

Congrats on your pair, they look great.

I hate to rain on your parade, b/c that 100 is my dream, but I think he mounted that scope mount wrong

It looks like he aligned yours with the bottom, not the top of the receiver....I hope I'm wrong.

Hey guys, thanks for the catch on the scope rail.  I honestly did not notice it until a couple of the posters here mentioned it.  I already got in touch with the builder and it will be heading off to get squared away shortly.  I compared it to my Arsenal 100-series in 7.62x39 and the front rivet is a couple mm high.  All in all, I am still very pleased.  It is not a big deal to fix and given how hard (and costly) it was to squirl away enough parts for a complete 100-series gun in 5.45x39 I am just happy to finally have one.  For whatever reason it seems like the folks at Arsenal gave up on making stuff in that caliber.  Maybe they know something we do not but it is still my favourite caliber to shoot the AK in.

Ok, back in action.  Mike at MTM was really great about the whole thing and turned this around very quick for me.  I am happy to have it back.  Now to find a day where it is under 90F to go test fire....
