im looking into my next ak and i am trying to decide between:
vector 47 with poly stocks and an ultimak sight rail
or an arsenal 107 with a side rail mount

from an accuracy perspective i know the 90* gas block will be a more accurate gun, but my question is is the siderail mount any less accurate than the ultimak setup as i want to mount an eotech on my ak, and it seems like my side rial mount on my wasr never held

it has really come down to these two guns

so any reason for one over the other would be a great help

thanks alot

Dude...you're in VA....get the 107 and SBR it.  After that get a refinish and then post pics and make us all jealous.

The Arsenal is a real AK built to mil spec.

both Great choices.....top 2 AK builds in my opinion.......I would go with the Vector, less expensive, and you can sink the rest into mags and ammo

again both are great but why pay extra....both are extremely accurate and will be as long as you do your part

here are a couple pics from my stamped Vector AK targets(6 shot groups  50yrds).......hope it helps

Go with the Arsenal.  Gas block won't make much of a difference with 7.62x39.  The Ultimak is a poor mounting platform in my opinion.  I've seen zero shifts with them personally.  Combloc side rail is better on an AK.  Go Arsenal.  It'll hold it's value better if you ever have to sell it and would be a hell of a nice rifle SBR'ed.

hmmm that is true but

the arsenal is 750 shiped

the vector would be 540+30 for ship+ the ultimak setup so around 670

i already have a siderail mount and extra mags and ammo from my wasr

oh decisions decisions

the ultimak is a solid mount option, and probably one of the best out there right now....I have never lost zero after sighting in my red dot and I break it down after all sessions at range....yes the rail comes off for cleaning not all the time as you can still clean without breaking it down completely(12ga bore brush, swab, clean, oil, done)......it does tend to heat up but not bad at all(as with all AKs, not going to get away with that in any package) and run a Zeiss red dot scope.....never one issue with heat transfer to my sight and none with others as far as eotech and aimpoints(these things are made to take a beating  the heat will not affect them.)

there is not much difference as far as keeping value between a Vector or an Arsenal....both hold value very well(if this really matters to you) as both are from reputable builders and both companies have great names.

I normally see Vectors going for $500 and up   never really any lower......but have seen Arsenals being sold from $800-$900 to $600-$650 in the E&E......for me its not a big deal if someone wants to blow out a rifle and sell fast they are going to lower price big time....for the most part you are going to pay a pretty penny for each make...used or new(but well worth the money)

I never wanted a siderail on an AK because scope choices are usually lousy and red dots are just to big....I want to keep it light and fast, the ultimak and zeiss is a perfect combination for that.....although if I had a chance to go back and do it over I would get the new Aimpoint mini red dot H1.....sits lower than the ziess and will also co witness with iron sights

either choice will be good, but for me there was no reason to spend the extra money on the AK.....pick what you like and shoot the piss out of it :)   hope it helps

I was just going through the same decision. Vector vs Arsenal 107CR.

I was going to order the Vector, then Aim Surplus greatly dropped the price of the 107CR and added free shipping. This helped me make up my mind and I ordered the 107CR on Friday.

The new muzzle brakes should be out soon for the CR series.

Anyone know where to find the removable muzzle attachment?

I just picked up my SLR-107CR yesterday and would really love to add the muzzle attachment!

Is that barrel threaded so you can change out breaks? What do you think of the new SLR-107CR With Removable Muzzle Attachment?
