Just ordered my first semi-auto rifle(10/22 dont count)
Im pretty excited. Parts build. Romy G, Nodakspud Reciever, phanton, and a standard pistol grip. I'll post the pictures of the actual equipment when it arrives!  $150.12 shipped. Including G2 FCG   $36.98 shipped. Both from www.dpharms.com  $55 shipped from nodakspud.com/ $242.10 Shipped. Should just be an additional $150 for a local gunsmith to assemble it! Then we will be rolling!!!!!!! |

Will make a nice rifle when done if built properly. Not every gunsmith is a great choice, get someone who knows what they are doing. Strip the wood and refinish it yourself, should only take one good day to strip, refinish and dry.

Someone at the new local gunstore recommended him. Said he does it in his spare time, for a lot of their customers. I guess he is gunsmith certified, but sells cellulars for a day job. Either way, the guy at the gun store is very knowledgeable and I trust him, as he showed my some of the blacksmiths work. (Saiga 308 converted)

A Saiga .308 conversion is one of the simplest jobs to do. I had never done it before and it took me a few hours with nothing more than a drill press, dremel, screwdriver and hammer.
I'd ask to see some examples of his work that actually consists of rivet work he has done. Make sure he doesn't do screw builds or welding of the receiver to the trunnion. You can't compare apples to oranges and that is what you do if you compare a kit build to a SAIGA .308 conversion as there is no riveting involved in the conversion. Any home builder with the proper tools can do an excellent build, sadly some garage gunsmiths may take needless shortcuts.   |

Can't hurt anything to see some of his work, but the gunstore worker did have 2 ak74's built by this gentlemen, which he felt were done correctly. But I see your point. Thanks! |
