Thanks for your help. How is it marked?
What factory? Any other info?

A very rare Chinese preban AK.

I'm not sure how accurate this info is.

For the PROCHINE guns:
This is usually printed directly under the trunnion, over the top of the model # markings:
PROCHINE CORP
Sherwood imports are usually marked over the trigger guard on the left side of the receiver:
SHER WOOD INT'L EXPORT CORP
NORTHRIGDE. CA
Sherwood is known to have imported atleast serial #'s 6400 through 6990.

There are *identical* AK47S rifles out there (same configuration, same markings) with the 87-prefix that I have seen, numbered up to 87069xx, but imported by different importers (marked accordingly), and stamped "PROCHINE CORP" above the magwell dimples. PROCHINE is another exporter in China.
I believe that these were probably all made at the same time and at the same place, but marked based on the exporter. This is further evidence that the various exported Chinese guns had more in common than they had differences. All Chinese "manufacturers" of semi-auto Kalashnikov type rifles were little more than exportation fronts set up by the Chinese government. As an example, China Jing An is owned by the People's Armed Police, and Polytech is controlled by the People's Liberation Army.

I think they were marked in Chinese.
