Not an Aimpoint but a PK-23 (Russian Aimpoint copy) from Tantal, on a modified BP-2 mount, also from Tantal. This setup isn't low enough to co-witness, but it is close.

Nice.
I assume that when you have to break down the rifle and clean it the mount must come off? I need to look at mine and these pics closer to figure out how this all works. Thanks so much for the pics and reply. |

Yes, it's too low for field stripping with the mount attached.
OTOH, it always remounted with less than 2MOA POI shift. BSW |

Some rails happen to be high enough to slip the cover on/off. Otherwise, they always remount close, just a few rounds away from zero. Unless it's corrosive surp, you don't need a full strip everytime anyway. |
