How are the UTG railed fore ends at holding zero?

Not good.  The forend would be fine for a light, but not a good choice for an optic that needs to hold zero.

Thanks. Now I wish there was a local place that sold decent rail scope mounts

I've had no problems with the UTG foreend on my WASR-3... about 1800 rounds now with an   Aimpoint clone with no problems... and it's been riding in the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee for many months.

My UTG is fine at holding zero. I ran a M2 mounted on it in an ARMS mount through a LAV AK class with no problems whatsoever. The UTG is far from my favorite mount, but my issues arent with losing zero.

I would still have mine if it fit my MAK90. The 478 version fist most AKs and the new 479 fits the chinese guns. I don't know if the 479 is out yet though. For the $$$ the UTG isn't a bad set up.

I can vouch for that, after buying a UTG rail for my friend and seeing it wasn't plastic, I ordered myself one the next day. Can't beat um for the price.

I've got the UTG on a Romanian and on a Mak 90. Both hold zero. Mount is rock solid. Anyone who tells you different doesn't have one and never will.
