Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - AK-74 mags for use in SAR-3

I heard a rumor that it is possible to use the 5.45x39 mags for the 5.56x45 SAR-3 type AK's, albeit with some modification.  Assuming this is not breaking any laws (i.e. the mags still work in the original weapon it was intedended for) would anyone care to enlighten me on how this is done?

You need to change out the follower, and there is a slight mod to make to the body. Robinson Arms sells the followers iirc, and can give you a diagram of the mods.

As long as the mag still works in the original intended gun, it is legal. The tapered 5.45 is not nearly as finnicky as 5.56, and works fine in modified mags as mentioned.
I would get some followers and one converted mag from them. I think it would be easier to dremel feedlips from a sample rather a drawing.
