Is it time to jump in at $99 or is the price still coming down?

I bought one and so far it shoots great. My AK was smoking by the end of the 75 rounds...

Thats real sweet to know Lyons,  cause I just received a shipping number from Aim and Copes.  I guess I just like to pay shipping ordering from both.  I was on Aims back-order list.

Can these kept loaded without winding the spring like the Chinese model?

From what I understand, these are the same as the chinese imports from years back. China sold the equipment to Romania and I guess South Korea too.

Weren't the Bulgarian drums also supposedly made on purchased Chinese machinery?

.

Per markings on the backs, there was more than one factory making Chinese drums.  Maybe the tooling from each went to a different country?

O r maybe its all anecdotal (rumor) as to where the Bulgarian, SKorean, and Romanian tooling came  from.

Without side-by-side comparisons of each  with a few Chinese drums it won't be easy to tell if the new products are on old Chinese tooling.

I'd like to find a source for new springs...  got 2 hundred rounders cheap with broken springs.

So far India, South Korea, Romania, and Bulgaria have copied the Chinese designed 75 round drum. Prices are running from $95.00-$229.00 depending on the dealer and source of origin. I purchased several of the Bulgarian drums when they were first available. The price has dropped since my purchase but the Bulgarian ones are still higher than all the rest. Romania and Korea are not known for quality work. My opinion is I would rather spend a little more for quality items than save a few bucks on questionable quality items. Is there anyone out there that knows which of the drums mentioned are the best and why? Any input would be appreciated.

Have you contacted Wolff Gun Springs?  They may not have something off the shelf, but they might be able to make some "custom" springs for you.

I have had both my 75 and 100 fully taken apart. The "spring" is a coil type spring.

A clock repair shop might be able to help you as well (if they exist anymore).
