just got a small supply of some 7.62x39 ammo.....thing is I have no clue where it is from or if its corrsive or not.....ok here is what is on headstamp.....  7.62x39   99   then what looks to be like a weird symbol  heres some pics

Off the top of my head I'd say it sounds like Russian ammo made for commercial export. 1999 most likely being the year of manufacture.
Might be Wolf, and it should be non-corrosive.
Sorry I can't give a more difinitive answer, but some pics might help.

nope not wolf...as wolf is stamped on the back.....I will try to take some pics....anyone else have a clue?

In light of better pictures, I don't think the primer is crimped.  Can you use a magnet to see if the bullet is copper or not?  Assuming it is copper, not bimetal or steel, I'd say it's commercial not surplus.
