Why don't you buy the Wolf ammo that Cabelas has? Its around 125 for a thousand, but still a bit cheaper than the Monarch. Aks shoot everything, including the Monarch, just fine.

I found Monarch to be "dirtier" than other 7.62 ammo. Other than that, I have no problems blasting it through my MAK-90 and SKS.
ETA: Cabellas 1,000 round cases of Wolf are on backorder. |

Monarch is mfg by Barnaul.
Barnaul produces ammo under the Barnaul, Monarch, and RAM brands.

In most calibers, Marlboro Man Russian is my favorite. Wolf 54r, .22lr, and 154gr SP have been good to me, but otherwise I'm a blue box kid!
