Worth a damn? I found crates of 1000rds of FMJ for 120.00.

Is German 7.62x39 FMJ any good?

This comes in plain brown box/case. It says

20 Cartridges 7.62x39 MM
123gr. Full Metal Jacket, Lead Core Bullet,
Berdan Primed, Steel Case. Ball Ammunition
Made In Germany.

Each individual box is white and plain. Says same thing. No company name. No importer. Just Made in Germany.

Any clues?

You better let me know immediately where this corrosive dangerous ammo is to be had. Price, address, etc. I will purchase all I can and dispose of in accordance with rifle range policy guidelines

Anyone know what it's "worth" against Russian, or American 7.62x39?

Is it worth 1000rds for 120.00?

JMHO. If it isn't brass, boxer primed, and sealed at bullet and primer I wouldn't spend more than $120/K.

Wolf has really gone up, gun shops here are selling it for $6/20 rnds = $300/K. The last gun show I went to Wolf was $135/K, almost double what it was just months ago.

If it was me, I'd get it, no telling when we will see cheap 7.62 X 39 again.

Take all they have.  German ammo is very good stuff and is comparable, if not better than most out there.

If it doesn't say "non-corrosive" on the packaging, assume corrosive.  When in doubt, wash it out.

Tho it isn't steel core, I would still say it is worth the price considering cheap ammo days are over.  Just like gas prices, we'll probably never see cheap pump prices again.

I have much experience with steel core German ammo and I like it alot.  So much so, that given the choice of all x39 out there, that would be my first pick.

1. Its corrosive.

2. It is DDR military ammo, that had the steel core bullets pulled and dumped and replaced with lead core after the 1994 ban.

3. It is good stuff.

4. We will see cheap ammo again. I'm sure people during WWII thought they would never be able to buy two loafs of bread in the same week again, but after the war they did. And after this war, we will.
