I have a few hundred rounds of this ammo a friend gave me after he sold his SKS.  I looked it up in the above chart and it's PRC.  I'm guessing '90'is the date of manufacture.  Is there a general rule as to which chinese ammo is corrosive?

IMO if it looks copper wash, it is likely corrosive. Go ahead and enjoy it in one range visit so you only have to do the corrosive wash once; do not let any ammonia stuff linger in a chrome bbl.

With a 1990 date, I would say about 75% chance it is corrosive.

Just clean with hot soapy water before a regular cleaning and it will be fine.

Thanks guys.  It's too bad that corrosive primers are cheaper to manufacture, otherwise we wouldn't have to deal with this.  I have a muzzleloader, so it's something I should be used to by now.

Corrosive powders (salted) are actually more stable over a variety of temps and storage conditions, which may be more attractive to the military than price.
