I recently picked up a battlepack of South African 7.62x39. Brass case.
Any reports of it's performance?
Any other sources for it?
Plan on shooting a bit of it in a few days.

Check out the thread above on the "Long awaited 7.62 X 39 ammo tests."  It should be near the bottom.

It shot about average IIRC.

It was fairly clean and nice ammo.  It has been off the market for several years.  I only see a few rounds here and there at shows.

Tried the SA.
At 50yds, the grouping was larger and the POI lower compared to Wolf FMJ & HP and Silver Bear Match/nipple tip.
5 rd. groups at bench. Included flyers. Didn't take measurments.

We found that during our tests that POI was up to 10 inches different for all the brands we tried. And this was at 50 yards.  We even had one type shoot 8 inches high / low from two different rifles.

The quality of the SA is good.  It just looks like your rifle prefers the Wolf.

The Maadi preferred in order from best to worst:
Silver Bear Match/nipple, older Wolf HP, older Wolf FMJ, SA.
The Wolf I have is older with yellow on the box.
I'll probally use the SA for plinking and trigger practice.
